There’s a certain day of the year where there’s 20% more heart attacks than the previous day.  There are also more traffic accidents following this same day.  Any guesses?

Luckily, this day shouldn’t be around too much longer, it’s when we spring forward for daylight savings and lose an hour of sleep.  Incredibly, when we gain an hour of sleep in the fall, the number of heart attacks drop by a similar 20% in the days after the change.

Sometimes it feels like we’re too busy to get enough sleep, but really, when sleep is inadequate your performance drops.  You’re also more susceptible to disease and you’re missing out on precious time to recharge and get rejuvenated for the next day

These shocking statistics show how important getting adequate sleep is, so be sure to get in your 7-9 hours!

Enjoy your sleep!
